Amy Meece: a Lifechanging Community
Amy Meece shows us that it's truly possible to turn your life around.
Amy is a new part-time employee at the Tri-County Animal Shelter, but she's been working with them since last October while she was serving time at the RCDC. Originally from Pulaski County, Amy says that the love and support from the people of Morehead has been lifechanging and encouraged her to start over in our community. People are her motivation for change, and she describes the folks at the Rowan County Detention Center and Tri-County Animal Shelter as family. Although Amy had a rough start in life, she is determined to change and is already demonstrating that in her new role. She says that the animals help her soul and the people around her have given her the support she was missing before.
We're proud to give her a second chance to create a better life. We believe the positive influences around her and the opportunity for work will help greatly, but most of all, her desire to be better for the people she cares about has set her apart. Amy gave us permission to share her story because she wants other people in similar situations to know that change is possible and that you can heal your life.
