Morehead-Rowan County 20 Year Strategic Plan Completed
After a year of back and forth meetings, planning, discussions, and revisions the Morehead-Rowan County Strategic Plan is complete. This document will serve to guide Rowan County until 2040, providing us with goals to reach and measures by which we can account for our progress. This plan was created through a partnership with a variety of stakeholders led by Rowan County, the City of Morehead, the Morehead-Rowan County Economic Development Council, and the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of commerce.
The input for our plan was gathered from over 500 community members in a survey. A 20 year strategic plan is important because it provides us with a vision of where we want to be, and what needs to happen in order for us to get there. It outlines goals and objectives for five key focus areas of community health and growth ranging from health and wellness to education and recreation. It takes inventory of our community's strengths and how we must play them to our advantage.
If we as a community buy into this plan and do our best to achieve the goals laid out, then Rowan County certainly has a bright future in store. To view the plan, please click here.
