Rowan County Receives Grant for Two New Tornado Sirens

Early warning is key for safety in emergency weather conditions, and the Rowan County Fiscal Court is investing in the safety of our community by installing two new tornado sirens. One siren will be located at the MMRC industrial park, and one will be located by Clearfield Elementary. We have received grants which will cover half the cost, and the Fiscal Court will pay the other half. We've never had tornado sirens out in the county before, so we look forward to using this to determine their efficiency before installing more.
